The third North American Call of Duty Challenge Division online event has wrapped up, and after two consecutive wins by OpTic Gaming, there’s a new champion: FaZe Clan.
This weekend saw tournaments in all regions, with the last being a $25,000 prize pool tournament in North America run by ESL.
Much like the previous two $25k UMG online tournaments, professional teams already in the Call of Duty World League took the majority top spots. Cloud 9’s “Eclipse” team managed to dethrone OpTic Gaming in the Round of 16 and continued on to the Top 8. Eclipse eventually fell to FaZe, placing 3rd/4th- the highest placing for a non-pro team in these Challenge tournaments so far.
