The Counter Strike:Global Offensive teams participating in Turner Broadcasting System and WME|IMG’s ELEAGUE have been announced, and there are some new faces among the 24 teams. The competition will begin on May 24th, and the first televised match will be on TBS on May 27th.
Five new teams will represent North America: Team Liquid, NRG ESports, compLexity Gaming, Team SoloMid, and Echo Fox. North American squad OpTic Gaming qualified for the ELEAGUE in the Road to Vegas event back in January.
Some of the world’s top organizations will be sending teams to the ELEAGUE, including three time major winner Fnatic, and Luminosity Gaming- who pulled off a breathless win at the most recent CS:GO major at MLG Columbus. Top European teams Na’Vi, Virtus.Pro, FaZe Clan, Team EnVyUs, and G2 Esports have also been invited.
The 24 teams will compete each week for two 10 week seasons in Atlanta, Georgia at a special eSports studio created by Turner Broadcasting. The teams will be playing for a $1.2 million prize pool each season.
