It’s been less than a year since OpTic Gaming picked up the ex-Conquest squad, and in that time the team made a series of roster moves to edge closer to the success the rabid fanbase requires of its teams. Over the weekend, OpTic silenced some critics and surprised some supporters by winning their first major championship at ELEAGUE’s Season 2 Finals in Atlanta, Georgia.
The team of NAF, RUSH, mixwell, Tarik, and Stanislaw is only the second North American CS:GO squad to win a tournament with a grand prize over $250,000 in the past nine years. The team takes home the grand prize of $400,000 and momentum heading into the EL Major in January. The win is another coup for the OpTic Gaming organization, who also has the top Halo team, Gears of War champions, and a traditionally dominant Call of Duty team.
