It’s the first event of the Call of Duty esports calendar, CWL Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The tournament features at $200,000 prize pool with over 270 teams playing in the competition.
There have been some changes to the CoD esports landscape since last year, as the game now requires teams to have five players instead of the traditional 4v4 format. As usual for CoD, the game has also changed, from Call of Duty: WWII to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 which was released earlier this year. The game change and personnel changes meant this year’s Rostermania was a hot one, but most of the teams that made it to Pool Play have had set rosters for some time now, and should be comfortable playing together on mainstage under the bright Vegas lights.
